Our Cats

Thumbnail picture of SashaWhen we got married, we started out with one cat, Sasha, who originally belonged to Tony. Sasha is the 'top cat', and the only one with a full tail. He gets his share of tail-batting, and in general, we think he's resigned himself to the expanded kitty population.

After a few months, we decided to get him a companion to keep him company during the day. Tucker is a Manx cat, and is four months younger than Sasha. He has a short tail, and with all of his fur, it looks like he has a dark grey powder puff stuck on that end. Because his thick fine fur traps the heat, we shave his fur each summer so that he won't suffer too much. It grows back by the time fall rolls around.

Close up of DanteOur third cat was given to us by Tony's parents when they came up for our wedding. Dante is part Japanese Bobtail, but he doesn't have any tail at all. He's 13 months younger than Sasha, and is very skittish.

Close up of Hadrian as a kittenOur newest addition is Hadrian. He too is a Manx, but he isn't as puffed out as Tucker. His mother was a striped tabby, so he has some light grey banding on his fur that is visible at certain angles. Hadrian is a solitary cat, and doesn't like to be cuddled, except when he wants to. He also does not adapt to change very well, and will circle and bat at any new or strange things that he encounters in the house. We believe that he practices kitty 'feng shui'.

Four cats are quite enough - imagine four cats running pell-mill in the wee hours of the morning! Or, four sleepy cats plopped out on various soft things throughout the house.
