Our project for 2000 was to reroof the 'fudge room' that is attached to the back of the laundry room. Tony's dad and brother got 'recruited' to help when his family came up to visit us this summer.

Here is some of the damage done by the water that leaked through the metal
roof.
Tearing out the old drywall ceiling, which was falling and molded in spots due to a water leak in the flat metal roof.
And here is the fudge room sans the metal roof. |
Putting up the new roof frame
You can see the double doors that Tony put in to accomodate our lawn tractor. |
Some views from the roof of some of the construction work going on behind our house.
And where are we now?
October 2000 Well, at this point, due to all of the on and off again rain that we got since July, we've only been able to roof one half of the roof. We're putting up frosted roof panels to let in light, and layering these fiberglass panels on top of the shingled opening is quite a challenge. Hopefully we'll get the other side done before winter comes along (but we're supposed to get frost on October 8th!).
